Returns & Exchanges


In-person Returns & Exchanges

We are processing refunds and exchanges for good purchased in-store or online inside our physical stores, provided the merchandise
you are returning meets our Refund Policy as outlined below.

Refund Policy

Please Note: All returns require a receipt.

Course Materials & Books (Required or Optional) for Courses

Textbooks must be returned in original, unopened packaging and in new condition. Do not write in, mark or read your textbook or open
any accompanying software until you are certain about your courses. Textbook refunds are limited to the beginning of each term.

The last day to return textbooks for the current school term is January 19, 2024.

Course Packages

All course packages are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Course Supplies

All stationery and supply items required for a course, as well as lab coats and equipment, are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Clothing & General Merchandise

Clothing and general merchandise can be returned within 14 days of purchase with original receipt. Please ensure
that all clothing tags are still on the garments being returned. All returns must be in original condition and unworn.

Returning Merchandise Purchased Online for In-Person Pick Up

Online purchases that have been processed and are ready for in-person pick up must be picked up as instructed and returned
in person at the store. We will NOT issue a return label for these orders.

Returning Merchandise Purchased Online & Shipped to You

If the Campus Store has sent the wrong item when packing your order or if the instructor has dropped a book from their course
(to be confirmed by Instructor), then the store will provide you with a prepaid return shipping label so you can send the goods back
to us. To request a prepaid shipping label, please fill out the Returns Form at the bottom of this page.

For all other purchases, you are responsible for covering the cost of shipping the goods back to the store. In the case of an exchange,
the store will cover the cost of shipping any replacement goods back to you. You may also return the item in person following
instructions in the previous section.

  1. Prior to returning your item, please review the information provided on this page to ensure the goods are eligible for a refund
    and that you are within the return timelines. If shipping a textbook, your box must be postmarked on or before the refund deadline.
  2. We recommend that you use tracked shipping to return items to us as the goods are your responsibility until we receive them.
    Please include a note with why you are returning the item, in addition to your proof of purchase (receipt or order confirmation email).

Exchange of Merchandise Purchased Online & Shipped to You

Prior to exchanging your item, please review our refund policy to ensure the goods are eligible and that you are within the stated timelines.

To begin an exchange:

Shipping Exchange:
  1. Fill out a Return Form with the details of what you would like to exchange. Our team will contact you
    prior to proceeding to the next step.
  2. In the case of an exchange, you are responsible for the packing and the shipping of the merchandise back to the store:

    the Hawk Shop, Wilfrid Laurier University
    230 Regina Street North Waterloo, ON N2J 3B6.

    We recommend that you use tracked shipping to return items to us as the goods are your
    responsibility until we receive them. Please include a note with why you are returning the item, in addition to
    your proof of purchase (receipt or order confirmation email). We will process the exchange as per your instructions and ship it to you at no charge.

Processing of Refunds

If you are shipping a return back to us, the refund will be processed upon our receipt of the physical goods and will appear
on your card within 3 to 5 business days.

Goods Damaged in Transit

Any damages or short shipments must be reported within three days of delivery / pick-up. Please fill out a web order inquiry form.
Be sure to take photos of any damage to the packaging as well as photos of the damaged merchandise itself. The staff member following up
on your inquiry will request these images as they are used in our discussions with the shipping company.
