Returns & Exchanges


Return Policy

At the Hawk Shop, we understand that there are times when you will need to make a return if your order does not work out for you.
We want to make you aware of our returns policy to ensure we can accommodate you.

Return & Exchange Condition
  • Original receipt is required for all returns and exchanges
  • Refunds will be issued to the original form of payment only
  • Items being returned must be unused, unopened, price tag attached and in their original selling condition
  • Refunds and exchanges can be made within the return timelines outlined below (some exceptions may apply)
  • All Black Friday, Clearance and/or discounted items are FINAL SALE.
  • All homecoming-related products purchased within the 10 days leading up to and including homecoming Saturday are FINAL SALE.

We are sorry but we cannot accept returns or exchanges on the following items:

  • Digital materials, access codes and eBooks and software (due to licensing restrictions)
  • Course packages
  • Laminated Study Guides (Barcharts)
  • Lab coats, lab supplies including goggles, safety glasses, dissection kits
  • Special order and custom order items
  • Hawk Shop gift cards
  • Headphones and earbuds
Clothing, Stationery, Technology & General Merchandise
  • Clothing, stationery, technology, and giftware can be returned within 14 days of original purchase date with the following exception:
    • All homecoming-related products purchased within the 10 days leading up to and including homecoming Saturday are FINAL SALE.
  • Merchandise must be unopened, unused, unworn, have price tags attached and be in original condition
Print Textbooks
  • Textbooks must be returned in original, unopened packaging and in new condition. Do not write in, mark, read your
    textbook/crack the spine or open shrink wrap or any accompanying software until you are certain about your courses.
  • Course packages are FINAL SALE
  • Textbook refunds are limited to the beginning of each term as per the return deadlines posted online and included on your receipt
Digital Course Materials: eBooks & Access Codes
  • All digital course materials/eBooks and access codes are FINAL SALE and cannot be exchanged or refunded
Defective Items
  • If an item is defective, it can be replaced if returned within 14 days. After this time, the manufacturer’s warranty applies.

Exchange Policy

  • Exchanges are available in store. If you would like to make an exchange, one of our store associates will be happy to
    help you find what you are looking for.
  • Clothing, stationery, technology, and giftware can be exchanged within 14 days of original purchase date where
    product is available. Merchandise must be unopened, unused, unworn, price tags attached and in original condition.

Abandoned Order Policy

  • Pickup Orders will be held for 21 days. After 21 days orders will be flagged as unclaimed. We will make up to two (2) attempts
    to contact the purchaser.
  • The follow up attempts will be made by email (if available).
  • If we do not hear from you or are unable to contact you within 30 days of the order being placed, your order will be marked
    as abandoned. There are no refunds for abandoned orders.

Returning Online Purchases


In-Store Return

Bring the item(s) you would like to return to any Hawk Shop location with the tags attached, along with one of the following forms of proof of purchase:

  • Original receipt
  • Online order packing slip
Mail-In Return

Before initiating a return, please carefully review the return policies above to ensure you meet our criteria, the dates are important.
Please package the item(s) securely to prevent damage in transit and include a copy of your sales receipt/packing slip inside the package.
A brief note explaining why you are returning the items would be helpful.

PLEASE NOTE: You are responsible for the cost of return shipping. We recommend using a reliable shipping method with
tracking and/or insurance to ensure the safe arrival of the returned goods. You are also responsible for any loss or damage
that occurs during the return shipping process which is why we suggest insurance.

Refunds

Once we receive the goods, we will inspect to ensure it meets our returns eligibility criteria. A refund will be issued to the
original payment method used for the purchase. Please note it may take 2 – 5 business days for the refund to reflect in your account.

Exchanges/Defective Items

Exchanges or returns of defective items can be made in store. If you are unable to do so, please complete the form below to request
an exchange or return of defective items. We will review the form and a Customer Service Representative will contact you to arrange
for the return of the items, provided they meet the terms of our return policy.
