 Campus Store Associate

Job type: Part time

 Position Summary

The Laurier Bookstore is proud to serve students, staff and faculty at Wilfrid Laurier University. Our team takes pride in answering and helping customers with product questions or general inquiries. As a Campus Store Associate team member, you work in a fast-paced environment and are involved in daily tasks and responsibilities such as delivering kind and courteous customer service, maintaining the sales floor and general inventory, and fulfilling customer needs.

Responsibilities  

• Providing excellent customer service by being knowledgeable of products, services, as well as in-store and online promotions.
• Determining and recommending products that satisfy customers' needs while driving sales by cross-selling products and suggesting other product recommendations.
• Welcoming customers upon store arrival and greeting customers at check out.
• Ability to respond to and handle customer inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally. 
• Operate in a fast-paced environment while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. 
• Completing all assigned tasks and responsibilities. 
• Handling and displaying merchandise that follows store guidelines and layout - folding, tagging, pricing, etc. 
• Supporting the sales floor by assisting customers to fitting rooms, maintaining awareness of product location on the sales floor, and retaining product knowledge to assist customers in the buying process. 
• Maintaining a clean and safe workspace. 
• Complete all point-of-sale functions as required. 
• Contribution to a positive and inclusive work environment. 

Other tasks will include but are not limited to

• Reporting to management when incidents occur (ex. stolen merchandise). 
• Being an engaged team member by sharing opinions and ideas for store events and other activities. 
• Following store uniform policy accordingly. 
• Complies with company, store and department policies.
• Abides by all health and safety programs and regulations. 

Qualifications

• Student currently enrolled at Wilfrid Laurier University. 
• Flexible availability - store events, weekend events, games, holidays, etc. 
• Comfortable and confident in engaging with customers.
